Instead of immediately embarking on that arduous climb at the end of an amazing day of rafting adventure from rapids #1 to #21, seize the opportunity to camp overnight in the depths of the gorge on one of the pristine riverside beaches used exclusively for Shearwater clients. Enjoy complete peace and serenity as the light fades and the starry African blanket is revealed. After breakfast embrace the smaller rapids #22 to #24 before saying farewell to the Zambezi River.

Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast, cold beers and soft drinks are provided. Wine can be supplied upon request. Shearwater Rafting is done in 8-man inflatable rafts captained by an experienced qualified river guide. All guides are First Aid qualified. Cost of trip excludes National Park fees of USD 10 per person.

Age Requirements

The minimum age is 15 years but persons under the age of 18 years need to have signed authorisation from a parent or guardian.

Health and Fitness

A reasonable level of fitness is required to participate in white-water rafting and the hike out of the gorge. Guides reserve the right to turn back individuals with health conditions or who are deemed unfit.

Emergency Support

Guides are trained and equipped to administer advanced first aid. In the event of minor injuries clients are carried out of the gorge and transferred by road to the Vic Falls clinic. Helicopter evacuation services are available for major injuries or serious illnesses.

Pick-up & Drop-off Times

Complimentary bus transfers are provided within Vic Falls Town. Pick up 06h30-07h00 from hotels/lodges in Vic falls. Drop-off 10h30-11h00

Children aged 15 years and above pay full price.
