HISTORIC BRIDGE TOUR

Journey through over 100 years of history in this engaging, theatrical and educational tour. Built between 1904 and 1905 the Bridge is one of Victoria Falls most prominent land marks.

The Shearwater Bridge Tour, led by our enthusiastic team of guides, takes you through the history of this remarkable structure, from its design and initial prefabrication in England, to its construction in Africa.

The bridge, an engineering masterpiece and revolutionary for its time, was central to Cecil John Rhodes’ vision of a Cape to Cairo railway and its history is entertaining, tragic and transfixing in equal measure.

BATOKA GORGE HIKE

BATOKA GORGE HIKE

A 40-minute drive through the countryside of Zimbabwe on off-road terrain will offer picturesque scenery on the way to the top of the Gorge, at rapid number 23.  After the safety and procedural briefing, you will enjoy the hour long walk at the top of the gorge, along the river to rapid 25. The hiking experience continues into an authentic beautiful Ndebele homestead where you will get a chance to interact with the local headman and his family while you have brunch under the thatched shade of their decorated mud huts. These graceful hosts are keen to show off their home, share their cultural way of life in relation to family, education, livestock, diet and anything you may find interesting.

This is a non-seasonal activity which can be enjoyed throughout the year.

WALKING SAFARI

This active and interactive way to view game, allows you to interact with nature in a way that game drives don’t. Examine and follow animal tracks, see creatures up close and appreciate the amazing flora that covers the land. Being on foot lets you into a world so few get to see, hear, touch and smell – your guide will help you meet Africa’s flora and fauna up close and personal.
